Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Take vehicles to their appropriate stall area upon receipt of the repair order from the dispatcher.
  • Carry out work efficiently and accurately while following all dealership and factory standards as designated on the repair order.
  • Find the true cause of malfunctions and repair them as permitted by the customer.
  • Obtain all necessary parts for your repair or service from the Parts Department.
  • Turn in all parts that you have set aside and tagged if the job is under warranty or if requested by the customer.
  • Notify the service advisor of changes to your work, like if any additional work is needed, if repairs cannot be completed in the given time, or if the work outlined isn't necessary.
  • Maintain proper documentation of your work.
  • Make use of road tests to ensure the customer's complaint is fully addressed.
  • Perform and participate in quality checks on work done.
  • Attend all training classes.
  • Stay on top of factory technical bulletins and other manufacturer updates.
  • Make sure the customer's vehicle is kept clean throughout the service or repair.
  • Administer housekeeping and safety procedures meticulously
  • Know and follow all federal, state, local, and other regulations regarding automotive service and repair work.
