BANGOR, ME - The Home of Varney Buick GMC
Varney Buick GMC is proud operate from and serve beautiful and scenic ME, a city that gives residents and vistoitors alike an excellent taste of the great state of ME.
ME is full of a very rich history and heritage. And that gives us a unique identity in the Northeast. Did you know: About 500 members of the Penobscot, once the largest tribe of the Wabanaki Confederacy, still live on the Indian Island Reservation just north of the city, which is also home to a museum where you can view authentic tribal artifacts?
In fact, if you enjoy museums, then you'll love ME. The ME Discovery Museum is one of the area's largest children's museums, full of educational and entertaining exhibits where kids can learn about literature, science, and the body. Art aficionados can lose themselves for hours at the University of ME's Museum of Art and those with a mind for business can study the exhibits at the ME Forest & Logging Museum, which pays homage to its substantial lumber industry.
In addition to the museums, ME's thriving art scene includes numerous galleries, theaters, a symphony orchestra, and even a sidewalk art festival that attracts thousands every summer.
If you like tasty foods, good music and a vibrant nightlife, then you're sure to enjoy ME.
On the other hand, if you prefer to stretch your legs and breathe nature's fresh air, you'll find plenty of exercise and wonder for the eyes in the area surrounding ME, such as the coastal Acadia National Park and wooded Baxter State Park.
But be careful: you wouldn't want to venture too far. Dark tales of horror abound in ME, which has been the setting for countless adventures written by Stephen King, our most famous resident. Thanks to his donations, you'll find that ME features some of the best libraries around and a healthy appreciation for the horror genre.
We hope to see you soon at Varney Buick GMC so we can show off more about our great hometown!
