I’ve had my Mazda 2019 for seven years. It’s been dependable and easy to drive. It has a lot of safety features that has saved me a couple of times with its braking system, when vehicles darted out at a collision spot. I’ve had no issues with it. This is my 6th Mazda in my many years of driving. From the Mazda 323, 626, 3 Sport, 6, Miata, and currently the CX-5.

When a car is nearly perfect, it is simply superior, not perfectly superior ;-) The 2018 CX-5 has been overwhelmingly my best and favorite vehicle of all time - I have had 10+. It's quick, it handles very well, provides great feedback to the driver, is super quiet, super comfortable - have driven long, long trips in it multiple times (NM to Utah, NM to WY, NM to MI, MI to WI, WI to NM). It's a delight in the snow, rain, dry pavement. The sound system is outstanding, the utility is excellent (slightly smaller than my 2013 RAV-4 but SO MUCH BETTER and that was a really good vehicle). Everything just works and always works. I got mine retro-fitted for Apple Car Play and it works great. I had a 1983 Mazda 626 and it was awesome! I had a 2004 or 2005? Mazda 5 and it was awesome! I have had a VW and it was NOT awesome. I have had a Ford and it was NOT awesome. I had a Toyota 4Runner and it was NOT awesome. My 2013 RAV-4 was really good! But I like AWESOME :-) So my next vehicle will be...drum roll... a Mazda!

This 2025 model year marks an transitional year after incremental improvments since its inception in 2013 - Still having physical buttons, switches and knobs instead of fully integrated settings in a virtual screen . Mazda is one of a few that still has a naturally aspirated engine without turbos and a real 6 speed geared transmission with a torque converter and timing chain . Only avaliable in AWD this drivetrain is bulletproof and reliable. Many newer vehicles have timing belts which require expensive service every 60-80k and you wilk feel that in your wallet - dealers love it because when owners realize this they balk and consider trading in the vehicle they thought was a lifer - So Mazda has an impeccable interior which rivals any vehicle at any price . If you use premium fuel in the non-turbo it boosts the power to a perfect level around 200hp - - these engines are 13:1 compression ratio which are fundamentally built to diesel specs to have this - which delivers excellent gas mileage - great low rpm torque and once you get familiar - a precision power delivery drivetrain thats unbelievably responsive - Its reliable to an absurd level , fit and finish is spectacular - and it handles like a sports car - as well better than anything in its class - How is possible at this price ?? Its the lineage of continually improving the vehicle with incremental changes year to year - nothing radical - thus rhe dies and presses that make this vehicle are already paid for -thus going back to college business class - the first " widget " is the most expensive ....the last is the least ...thus we have Mazda having low production costs due to limited engineering changes - but 2026 will be very different and 2025 in my opinion is the last in its legacy of many factors - . 2026 gets longer , wider , has integrated most switches into a giant tesla esque touch screen - and nore making 26 a departure from the long run of this masterpiece .
